2013 Year End Post | Beaches, Hikes and Everything Nice

Time flies so fast. Parang kahapon, kakasimula lang ng 2013, pero ngayon matatapos na siya, napakabilis. Napakaraming naganap, masasaya, exciting, nakakapagod, nakakakilig, nakakabusog at marami pang iba. Marami rin bagong karanasan at bagong taong nakasalamuha. Overall, my 2013 was a blast!

So before the year ends, here's a run down of my adventures this 2013.

January
6 Mt. Cristobal Traverse
13 Mt. Marami hike
17-20 Mt. Talomo-Apo Megatraverse
21-22 Samal Island
24-27 Mt. Dulang-Dulang-Kitanglad (D2K traverse)

After completing the physically demanding Talomo-Apo Megatraverse, I headed to Bukidnon to do the D2K Traverse. Oh, it's one of my greatest traverses.

Mt. Tagapo | Return to Isla Talim

The itch of returning to Isla Talim and climb its grassy peak came bugging me again. There's no particular reason why I wanted to climb again Mt. Tagapo, namiss ko lang talaga siya bigla. But unlike before, which was a solo hike, I wanted to bring a gang with me this time.

Mt. Makiling | MakTrav Again... and Again

Ask me to join your Mt. Makiling hike (lalo na kung MakTrav) and I might find it hard to turn you down. It is my favorite training ground, the mountain of choice to catch up with my hiking. Not to mention, it has a special place in my heart.

Nasugbu Twin Hike And Some Pointers in Doing a Double Dayhike

I joined the hike because I thought it would be my first Nasugbu Trilogy Hike, but circumstances tells me not to push for the third mountain (Pico de Loro). The would-be Nasugbu Trilogy ended up for me as another Nasugbu Twin Hike (Batulao and Talamitam). Something I did a little more than a month ago.

Saturday - June 6, 2013

Aboard a bus bound for Nasugbu, Batangas, I was thinking, "kakayanin ko ba ang Nasugbu Trilogy challenge, Batulao-Talamitam-Pico De Loro?, may MakTrav pa ako kinabukasan!" With a mindset ready for the three mountain challenge, I sat comfortably at my seat, and soon fell asleep. The next thing I knew, we're almost at Evercrest.

Mt. Cristobal | I Still See No Devil

Many mountaineers claim that they've experienced something "devilish" either on the trails or the campsites of Mt. Cristobal (or Mt. San Cristobal), hence the moniker "Devil's Mountain"... but of the three hikes I did in this mountain, ni minsan, hindi ako nakaramdam ng takot o pangamba na makakaengkwentro ko ang mga "evil spirits".

To be honest, na-eexcite ako laging umakyat sa Mt. Cristobal because it has one of the most varied and interesting flora among the Tagalog mountains, comparable to Makiling and Malipunyo range.
