"In the 1880’s, the Spanish Colonial government undertook massive construction frenzy. Its main goal: to protect the ever-increasing maritime trade the Philippines was then experiencing... This brought about the construction of faros (lighthouses) throughout the archipelago." - Architect Manuel L. Noche

  6. Pa-join naman sa lighthouse trip. Hehe. Conquered Luzaran and Corregidor last year, pati Bolinao (kahit di sya Spanish lighthouse). Planning for Malabrigo, Santiago, Bojeador, and Capones this year. Walang decent guide on how to go to Bugui, Jintotolo, and Melville.

  10. Ivan, you have inspired me a lot to visit these historic lighthouses. To date, I have visited 20 Spanish lighthouses, all of them I have photographed and accounts of my lighthouse visits were transcribed in my personal travel blog. It would be a great honor and privilege if you would like my facebook page (LakbayLoyd) and visit loydtraveltrail.blogspot.com.

Kudos and more exciting travels to come! Mabuhay.
