Climb Itinerary | Mt. Daguldol with Sidetrip to Naambon Falls and Laiya Beach

Mountain: Mt. Daguldol
Jump off: Brgy. Hugom, San Juan, Batangas
Difficulty: 3/9 Minor Climb, 672+ MASL
Climb: Overnight Camping

Itinerary

Day 1 - Wednesday
06:00 am - depart, RRCG terminal at Buendia-Taft; bus direct to San Juan, Batangas
08:00 am - arrive at San Juan bayan, proceed to jeepney terminal bound for Laiya near the market
08:45 am - depart, jeep to Brgy. Hugom
10:10 am - arrive at Brgy. Hugom (jump off), register at barangay hall, get a guide
10:30 am - late breakfast/ early lunch
11:00 am - start trek along the beach
11:30 am - start ascent
12:45 pm - arrive at Mang Lizardo's Place (softdrinks break)
03:00 pm - lower camp site
03:10 pm - higher camp site, set up camp
04:30 pm - wash up at water source, rest, photo ops
05:30 pm - sunset viewing
06:00 pm - prepare dinner
06:30 pm - dinner, socials
09:00 pm - lights off

Day 2 - Thursday
06:00 am - wake up call
06:30 am - breakfast
07:00 am - break camp
08:30 am - start descent
10:30 am - back at Mang Lizardo's place (softdrinks break)
11:10 am - trek to Naambon Falls
11:15 am - arrive at Naambon Falls
12:00 nn - resume descent
12:45 pm - side trip to Laiya Beach, wash up at Paraiso Beach Resort
02:40 pm - trek back to Brgy Hugom,
03:20 pm - back at Brgy Hugom, late lunch
04:00 pm - tricycle to Sitio Balakbakan
04:45 pm - depart, jeep to Bayan ng San Juan
05:20 pm - depart, jeep from San Juan to Lipa City
07:30 pm - arrive at Lipa City, dinner at Lomi House
08:30 pm - depart, bus to Manila

Bits of Tips

• RRCG's trips to San Juan are available only in the morning, first trip is at 6:00 AM
• Climbers are required to get a guide at the Barangay Hall
• It's cold and windy at the summit area
• there's a water source at the higher campsite
• wake up earlier if you want to assault the summit
• bring swimwear for side trips to Naambon Falls and Laiya Beach

  2. Daguldol was where Christine, The Jovial Wanderer and I became close! It was such a memorable climb, and we did a Laiya side trip as well.

    1. lol parang si Apolinario Mabini lang. hahaha. pwede naman siguro mag check in sa isang resort sa Laiya then iwan yunggamit doon para mag dayhike sa mt daguldol.

  6. Which is easier to climb mt. Daguldol or mt. Manabu? Galing ako manabu last week and we are planning to hike at mt. Daguldol pero this time gusto ng kids ko sumama! Safe ba trail for them? 7, 8 and 10 yrs old sila.

    1. based on experience, Mt. Daguldol is more difficult. Mas mahaba kasi ang trek at maraming steep assault. Meron naman kayong kasamang guide (required kasi kumuha), and I think safe naman kasi walang matatarik na portion. Mas maganda din ang experience dito because of the side trips.

  7. kaya po ba 1 day trek ksama sidetrips? 2nd time pa lng din namin aakyat, sa guide 350 pesos ksama namin siya hanggang pgbaba o ibang bayad pa po un? from Cavite kami... :P

    1. siguro kung beterano na kyo sa akyatan at kaya nyo ang mabilisang hike, kakayanin nyo yan i-dayhike. but who knows, baka mga hardcore pala kayo sa ayatan kahit 2nd time nyo pa lang :D

      sayang naman yung views at side trip kapag ginawa nyong dayhike yan.. kasi mabilisan lang ang lahat, hndi nyo masyado maeenjoy.

    2. ihahatid lang kayo ng guide hanggang sa summit, iiwan na nya kayo dun. isa lang naman yung trail paakyat at pababa kaya ok lang na wala nang guide pababa, kaya nyo na yun ;)

  10. You did camping quite well, I am also going their in the last week of March. Traveling on different place and climbing both are my favorite things which i do in my holidays. This time I deciding to visit MT. daguldol. I am going there first time.

    We are planning to climb Mt. Daguldol on July and gusto lang namin malaman kung kaya ba to ng dayhike. Di kasi kami pwede mag overnight e. Hehe.
